Tips on Buying Chicago Quinceanera Invitations

Quinceanera invitations do much more than save the date of your daughter’s birthday.  Invitations are the first impression you have on your guests.  And if you want to make a good impression on your family and guests, be sure your quinceanera invitations are original and creative.

Invitations are a great way to hint at what your theme is going to be.  For example, if the theme is Cinderella, then the invitations can be customized to include a flying Tinkerbell or a fairy godmother with a wand or a castle.  If your daughter is going to wear a pink dress, you probably want the invitations to be the same color.  If she has chosen blue, then the invitations should be blue.

Black and white photograph invitations are a good idea for more traditional quinceaneras because black and white never goes out of style.  If you choose this timeless style, you can include a glamorous black and white photograph of the quince girl on the invitation itself.

Customized invitations with a photograph of the quince girl can be done in every color as well.  This is very popular today.  But be sure you choose a quality invitation company because, with the increase in web companies, we have seen some of the cheaper custom invitations printed poorly with a blurred photograph of the birthday girl.  Some even had misspellings.  Once you choose a design, always be very careful when reviewing it.  Be sure you are getting everything you paid for.

A quality invitation package should include the following:

  • The outer envelopes
  • The invitations
  • Respond cards (RSVP)
  • RSVP return envelopes with your home address professionally printed

Both sets of envelopes can be lined with the color of your choice.  Also, professional calligraphers are being used more and more because they can make even the plainest invitations look spectacular.

Tips on Timing Your Chicago Quinceanera Invitations

  • Quinceanera invitations should be ordered as soon as the date, time, and place have been confirmed and reserved. This should be at least four months in advance before the party. By doing this, you leave room for reprints (if necessary) and this also gives guests plenty of time to save the date and respond once you send them out.
  • You should only order one invitation per household.  (You don’t need one for every family member of a household.  But it is always nice to send one to guests or family who may be away at college.  Receiving an invitation while away at college is always a pleasant surprise!)
  • You should always order at least 10-15 extra invitations for last minute guests and keepsakes.  (It is always cheaper to order more at the time of the purchase than to order more later)
  • Quinceanera invitations should be mailed at least 6 weeks prior to the party.

Tips on Wording Your Quince Invitations

Traditionally, parents invite in the honor of their daughter.  But it is also acceptable for the quinceanera girl to do her own inviting while giving thanks to her parents and godparents.  This shows a higher maturity level and shows that the girl respects and is very appreciative of everything her parents have done for her up to this point in her young life. You should also include a list of the names on the Quinceanera Court.

* The language in which to write these invitations depends mainly on the guests.  It is sometimes wise to include both English and Spanish versions of the invitations, as nowadays not all guests may be fluent in Spanish.  If you don’t want to print out an entirely different invitation, you can combine the two languages on one invitation.
